Bursa Announcement

The Board of Directors ("the Board") of AEON wishes to announce that the Company has on 11 May 2021 received a notice in writing dated 11 May 2021 given pursuant to Section 281 of the Companies Act, 2016 ("CA 2016") from Messrs KPMG Desa Megat PLT ("KPMG Desa Megat") on their resignation as External Auditors of the Company. Pursuant to Section 281(2) of the CA 2016, KPMG Desa Megat's terms of office will end with effect from 11 May 2021.

KPMG Desa Megat were re-appointed as the External Auditors of the Company at the last annual general meeting ("AGM") of the Company held on 24 June 2020 to hold office until the conclusion of the 36th AGM of the Company. Upon the resignation of KPMG Desa Megat, Messrs KPMG PLT (“KPMG”), having consented to act, has been appointed to succeed KPMG Desa Megat as the External Auditors of the Company with effect from 11 May 2021 and shall hold office until the conclusion of the 36th AGM of the Company.

The above change of auditors from KPMG Desa Megat to KPMG is for the purpose of the audit firms’ compliance to the requirements by the relevant authorities to provide external audit service under a single entity.

Save for the above, the Board is not aware of any matters that need to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the Company.
