Contents :We refer to your letter of 3 November 2000 regarding the above matter.
In response, Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Berhad ("PROTON") states that it has no intention of selling its 80 per cent stake in Lotus Cars Ltd. We would like to also clarify that PROTON's stake is held in Lotus Group International Ltd.. Lotus Cars Ltd. is a 100% owned subsidiary of Group Lotus Limited which in turn is a 100% owned subsidiary of Lotus Group International Limited.
