| Contents | We refer to the above in relation to the Amended and Restated Deed. Maybank Investment Bank Berhad (formerly known as Aseambankers Malaysia Berhad), on behalf of the Board of Directors of Axis REIT Managers Berhad (“Axis-REIT Managers”), the manager of Axis-REIT, wishes to announce that the Amended and Restated Deed has been registered and lodged with the Securities Commission (“SC”) on 13 April 2009 and 15 April 2009 respectively. The Amended and Restated Deed consolidated the following amendments made to the principal deed dated 15 June 2005 (“Principal Deed”) pursuant to: (i) the first supplemental deed dated 8 December 2006; and (ii) the second supplemental deed dated 1 December 2008. The Amended and Restated Deed also updated the Principal Deed to incorporate the provisions under the new Guidelines on Real Estate Investment Trusts issued by the SC dated 21 August 2008 which replaced and superseded the previous Guidelines on Real Estate Investment Trust issued by the SC on 3 January 2005. Apart from the above and further to the announcement by Axis-REIT Managers dated 22 January 2009, Axis-REIT Managers with the approval of OSK Trustees Berhad, the trustee for Axis-REIT has also amended the current income distribution policy for Axis-REIT from semi-annual payment to quarterly payment. The Amended and Restated Deed will fully replace the Principal Deed and is effective upon the registration with the SC i.e. 13 April 2009. This announcement is dated 15 April 2009. |
