We refer to the Exchange's query dated 14 July 2003 in respect of the above article which appeared in The Edge, pages 1 and 67.
RHB Capital Berhad ("RHB Capital" or "the Company") wishes to state that there are currently no plans for the Company to go private.
This announcement is dated 15 July 2003.

We refer to the above article appearing in The Edge, pages 1 and 67, on Monday,
14 July 2003, a
copy of which is enclosed for your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined
sentences, which are reproduced
as follows:-
" ...Rashid Hussain Bhd (RHB) is once again mulling the possibility of taking
its subsidiary
RHB Capital Bhd private".
"Sources say RHB, which saw a change in shareholding in February this year, is
looking at the
exercise which will clear the way for it to have direct exposure to the
financial units of the group".
