Reference is made to the Exchange’s letter (Ref. No. MA-030702-34605) dated 2 July 2003 on unusual market activity in the trading of the shares of IE on the KLSE recently.
In response to the above query, the Board wishes to inform the KLSE that on 2 July 2003, the Company has appointed Mr Lee Chiah Cheang as its Joint Managing Director. A separate announcement on Mr Lee’s appointment has been made on even date.
Other than the matter stated above, the Board is not aware of any other reason to account for the unusual market activity in the trading of the shares of IE on the KLSE recently.

In accordance with Part IV of Guidance Notes 1 of the Listing Requirements of the KLSE for MESDAQ Market (“MESDAQ Listing Requirements”) on Response to Unusual Market Activity, you are requested to furnish the Exchange with an announcement for public release after a due enquiry seeking the cause of the unusual market activity in the Company’s securities. When considering your response and when making the required announcement, your attention is particularly drawn to the continuing disclosure requirements set out in Guidance Notes 1 and Part IV and V of Chapter 7 of the MESDAQ Listing Requirements.
