1. INTRODUCTION
- On behalf of the Company, the Board of Directors is pleased to announce that it proposes to change its name from "Redifussion Berhad" to "RCE Capital Berhad". The Companies Commission of Malaysia had on 23rd June 2003 approved the proposed name.
2. RATIONALE
The proposed change of name is a fulfilment of the terms and conditions of the 'Agreement For Sale of Shares in Radio Rediffusion Sdn Bhd ("RRSB")' entered into by the Company with Star Commercial Publications Sdn Bhd ("SCPSB") on 25th September 2002 to dispose of the Company's investment, comprising 700,000 ordinary shares in RRSB ("the Sale Shares") to SCPSB, whereby the Company shall within one year from the date of completion of the sale of the Sale Shares cease to use the name "REDIFFUSION".
The proposed change of name would also reflect the new identity of the Company as the Company is principally involved in investment holding and provision of management services.
3. APPROVAL
The Company will be seeking the approval of the shareholders for the proposed name change at an Extraordinary General Meeting to be held on a later date.
