We refer to your query letter dated 12 August 2003 in relation to the above article appearing in the Star, StarBiz, page 1, on Tuesday, 12 August 2003.
Please be informed that KFC Holdings (Malaysia) Bhd (“KFCH” or “the Company”) wishes to advise the following: -
1. KFCH has not been informed or notified by any parties, including Nasmudi Sdn Bhd or Employees Provident Fund of their respective actions, if any, to acquire or dispose off, respectively, any shares in KFCH.
2. Commerce International Merchant Bankers Bhd, for and on behalf of KFCH, has on 13 August 2003 announced the approval obtained from the Securities Commission in respect of its Proposed Reorganisation Scheme which was announced on 20 December 2002.
3. KFCH has on 4 August 2003 and 6 August 2003 announced the following: -
- a. Dealings of the securities of the Company during closed period by YBhg Datuk Hj Izhar Sulaiman and YBhg Dato’ Hj Johari Abdul Ghani
b. Notice of Interest of Substantial Shareholders and Directors’ Dealings by YBhg Datuk Hj Izhar Sulaiman and YBhg Dato’ Hj Johari Abdul Ghani
c. Notice of a Person Ceasing to be a Substantial Shareholder by the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation Pte Ltd

We refer to the above news article appearing in the Star, StarBiz, page 1 on
Tuesday, 12 August 2003, a copy of which is enclosed for your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined
sentences, which are reproduced as follows:-

purchase of the Employees Provident Fund's (EPF) 16% stake in KFC Holdings (M)
