We refer to your letter dated 17 November 2003 in relation to the article entitled “MRCB back in power” which appeared in The Edge on Monday, 17 November 2003 and wish to inform that MRCB is not at present a member of any consortium that has been awarded the submarine transmission cable project from Sarawak to Peninsular Malaysia.
Accordingly, we are not able to comment on the cost of such project.

We refer to the above article appearing in The Edge, page 76 on Monday, 17
November 2003, a copy of which is enclosed for your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined
sentences, which are reproduced as follows:-
(1) "Sources say MRCB is a possible participant in a consortium to build, own,
operate and transfer a high-voltage submarine transmission cable from Sarawak
to Peninsular Malaysia."
(2) "The total project cost could be close to RM10 billion ... "
