The query letter of the Exchange dated 30 August 2000 on the above matter refers.
We wish to inform the Exchange that statements made by the Company's Chief Executive, Dr Md Khir Abdul Rahman, were inaccurately quoted in the following sentences appearing in the Business Times, Companies and Markets section on Wednesday, 30 August 2000:
"Meanwhile, Mohd Khir said the company may go to the capital market by the year-end for the purpose of refinancing its borrowings. It is believed the company will sell bonds worth between US$300 million and US$400 million (US$1=RM3.70)."
We wish to clarify to the Exchange that the Company is continously exploring various opportunities to refinance its existing borrowings. At this stage, the Company is still evaluating alternative financing plans for its loan portfolio.

We refer to the above news article appearing in the Business Times, Companies
and Markets section, cover page , on Wednesday, 30 August 2000, a copy of which
is enclosed for your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentences
which are reproduced as follows:-
