Reference is made to the announcement made by the Company on 16 October 2018 in relation to the orders pursuant to Sections 366 and 368 of the Companies Act 2016 (“Act”) (“Order”) granted by the High Court of Malaya at Kuala Lumpur to the Company and its wholly-owned subsidiary PBJV Group Sdn Bhd (“PBJV”) (collectively referred to as the “Applicants”), restraining all proceedings and actions brought against the Applicant.

On behalf of the Board of Directors of Barakah (“Board”), MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Berhad wishes to announce that the Order has expired on 14 January 2019.

The Board will continue to engage with the Applicants’ lenders and creditors to achieve an amicable debt settlement proposal. Meanwhile, the Board will also seek all legal avenues to protect Barakah and its subsidiaries (“Barakah Group”) when necessary, while a debt settlement proposal is being negotiated with the Applicants’ lenders and creditors.

The Board wishes to inform that as at the date of this announcement, none of the Barakah Group’s lenders has called for an event of default on any of the Barakah Group’s financing facilities.

Further development on the above matter will be announced to Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad in due course.
