Reference is made to the announcements made by the Company on 16 October 2018, 15 January 2019, 6 March 2018 and 22 April 2019 in relation to the restraining order pursuant to Section 368 of the Companies Act 2016 (“Act”) (“Restraining Order”).

On behalf of the Board of Directors of Barakah (“Board”), MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Berhad wishes to announce that the High Court of Malaya at Kuala Lumpur (“Court”) had on 29 May 2019, granted PBJV Group Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of the Company, amongst others, the following:

(a) a Restraining Order for the period commencing from 29 May 2019 until 22 July 2019; and

(b) Encik Sulaiman bin Ibrahim to be appointed as a director of PBJV Group Sdn Bhd, the Company’s wholly-owned subsidiary pursuant to Section 368(2)(d) of the Act.

The Restraining Order was applied for as one of the proactive measures taken by PBJV Group Sdn. Bhd. to manage the debt levels of the Company and PBJV Group Sdn Bhd (collectively known as “Barakah Group”) and the Restraining Order allows the Barakah Group to negotiate terms with its lenders and creditors without having the threat of any proceedings and actions being brought against PBJV Group Sdn. Bhd.
