Pursuant to the Company’s announcements dated 13.02.2020 and 16.03.2020, the Board of Directors of the Company wishes to update the status of the civil suit in relation to the Writ of Summons filed by PRPC Utilities and Facilities Sdn. Bhd. against Barakah Offshore Petroleum Berhad (“Barakah”) and Pegasus Diversified Berhad (“Pegasus”) as follows:.
1. This Writ of Summons proceeding was earlier filed against Barakah and Pegasus for the claim sum of RM85,203,274.96 under the Parental Guarantee issued by Barakah and Pegasus for their wholly owned subsidiaries, PBJV Group Sdn. Bhd. and Macfeam Sdn. Bhd. respectively.
2. On the 28th December 2020, the High Court of Kuala Lumpur has struck off the said Writ of Summons proceedings against both Barakah and Pegasus, with liberty to file afresh.
3. Within such premises, currently, there are no further Writ of Summons proceedings against Barakah and Pegasus.
