We refer to the Exchange’s letter ref: MN-030108-36486 dated 8th January 2003 regarding the above matter and wish to confirm that the Company is considering various financing options including the issuing of Islamic bonds to finance its acquisition of the remaining 50.5% of IRIS Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd. The details of the financing have yet to be finalised. The Company also confirms that new IRIS Corporation shares will not be issued as it has opted to pay the final balance of RM30 million to the vendors by cash.
The appropriate announcement will be made to the Exchange once the terms and conditions of the financing has been finalised.

We refer to the above news article appearing in The Sun, Business Section, Page
15, on Wednesday, 8 January 2003, a copy of which is enclosed for your
reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentence,
which is reproduced as follows:-
