We refer to your letter dated July 24, 2000 drawing our attention to the above article which appeared in The Star, Business Section, page 1, on Saturday, July 22, 2000 and in particular, to the underlined sentences in the said article which are reproduced as follows :-

      “Penang-based textile firm MWE Holdings Bhd ......... is said to be interested in taking a stake in the numbers forecast operator.”

      “Another possible buyer is Kejora Harta Sdn Bhd.”

We wish to inform the Exchange that we have referred your query to our substantial shareholder, Multi-Purpose Holdings Berhad (“MPHB”) for their comments. We wish to advise that MPHB has informed us that they are not in any position to comment on any of the matters referred above except to state that :-

(a) MPHB has not been approached by nor held discussions with MWE Holdings Berhad seeking to acquire a stake in Magnum Corporation Berhad (“Magnum”); and

(b) MPHB has not been approached by nor held discussions with Kejora Harta Bhd relating to the shares in Magnum.

We refer to the above news article appearing in The Star, Business Section,
page 1, on Saturday, 22 July 2000, a copy of which is enclosed for your
reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined
sentences which are reproduced as follows:-
