We refer to your letter dated 6 December 2000 on the above news article, which appeared in the Companies & Markets Section of Business Times on the even date.
We hereby confirm that our subsidiary, Celcom Timur (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd , which is a joint venture company with Sarawak Electricity Supply Corporation has filed a RM102.6 million claim against Celcom (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd as disclosed in our Quarterly Report for Financial Quarter ended 30 September 2000.
However, Celcom (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is disputing the amount and the matter which was originally fixed for hearing in January 2001 is now postponed to February 2001.

We refer to the above news article appearing in Business Times, Companies &
Markets section, page 13, on Wednesday, 6 December 2000, a copy of which is
enclosed for your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentence
which is reproduced as follows:-
"... Celcom Timur, which is 40 per cent owned by Sarawak Electricity Supply
Corp, filed a RM102.6 million claim against Celcom."
