We refer to KLSE's letter dated 21 December 2000 in relation to the above mentioned article.
Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad (CMSB) wishes to deny the speculations that Utama Banking Group Berhad (UBG), a subsidiary of CMSB, is seeking to be the eleventh anchor bank in the country, as was reported in the Business Times on 21 December 2000.

We refer to the above article appearing in Business Times, Companies & Markets,
page 14 on Thursday, 21 December 2000, a copy of which is enclosed for your
reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentence,
which is reproduced as follows:-
"There have been speculations that Utama may be seeking to be the eleventh
anchor bank in the country."
