| Under the capital repayment, Sime UEP will return to its entitled shareholders all credits arising from the capital reduction, in accordance to Section 64 of the Companies Act, 1965, representing the disposal consideration for the disposal of the entire businesses and undertakings including the assets and liabilities of Sime UEP to Synergy Drive Bhd ("Synergy Drive"). To facilitate the capital repayment, the trading of ordinary shares of RM1.00 each in Sime UEP ("Sime UEP Shares") on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad ("Bursa Securities") will be suspended from 9.00 a.m. on 18 October 2007, being 3 clear market days before the Entitlement Date and will continue to be suspended until Sime UEP is removed from the Official List of Bursa Securities. Accordingly, the last day of trading of Sime UEP Shares shall be on 17 October 2007. The Notice of Suspension and Book Closure will be despatched to the shareholders of Sime UEP on 10 October 2007. |
