We refer to the letter from the KLSE dated 22 February 2001 with reference no. HY-010222-34033 with regards to the article appearing on The Edge Online on 21 February 2001 in which we have been requested to confirm or deny or to clarify any misleading aspects of the reported sentences below:-

“GeneMedic plc, through which TH Group pursues its biotechnology ventures, plans to set up an insulin manufacturing plant in Asia next year”

TH Group had on 29 November 2000 announced to the KLSE that its 70% owned subsidiary, Internet Technology Asia Ventures Sdn Bhd (“ITAV”), had acquired 3,111,111 shares in GeneMedix plc, which was to be listed on the stock exchanges of London and Singapore. GeneMedix is one of the venture capital investments made by ITAV which ITAV has no Board representation.

We have been verbally informed by Dr Kim Tan, the chairman of GeneMedix, that GeneMedix has the intention to set up such a plant in Asia.

We refer to the above article appearing in The Edge Online on 21 February 2001,
a copy of which is enclosed for your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentence,
which is reproduced as follows:-

"GeneMedix plc, through which TH Group Bhd pursues its biotechnology ventures,
plans to set up an insulin manufacturing plant in Asia next year."
