| Working experience and occupation | Subsequent to his graduation from the Camborne School of Mines in England, En Mohd Yakub Ismail began his career at Associated Mines in 1975. A year later, Associated Mines was absorbed into Malaysia Mining Corporation (MMC) where he continued his service and held mine operational, supervisory, mine planning, project and mine management positions in open cast tin mining and dredging operations. He had also worked in Indonesia (diamonds) and in Kyrgyzstan (gold exploration). En Mohd Yakub Ismail joined the MSC Group in 2002 by assuming the position of Manager, Mining Operation at the Group's then newly acquired subsidiary, PT Koba Tin and served until 2005. In 2006, he assumed the role General Manager at Rahman Hydraulic Tin Sdn. Bhd (RHT), another subsidiary of the Company. In 2011, he was promoted to the position of Group Chief Operating Officer, Mining at Malaysia Smelting Corporation Berhad whilst continuing to remain as the Senior General Manager of RHT. |
