We refer to the letter from the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange dated 2 December 2003 pertaining to the article appearing in The Star, StarBiz, Page 3, on Tuesday, 2 December 2003.
After due and diligent enquiry with Zil Enterprise Sdn Bhd (“Zil”, being a substantial shareholder of Eden Enterprises (M) Berhad), the Board of Directors understand that Zil has not, to date, made any decision to “inject the proposed joint-venture oil refinery into Eden”. The Board of Directors further confirms that, to date, it has not received any offer from Zil or any other relevant parties of such intention to inject the project into Eden, nor has the Company and Zil or such relevant other parties commenced any negotiations towards that effect. However, if such offer is received by the Company, an appropriate announcement would be released to the Exchange in compliance with the relevant regulations/laws.

We refer to the above news article appearing in The Star, StarBiz, Page 3, on
Tuesday, 2 December 2003, a copy of which is enclosed for your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentence,
which is reproduced as follows:-
"Asked whether he would inject the proposed joint-venture oil refinery into
Eden should the deal materialise, he said: "It's quite a natural thing"."
