We refer to our announcement on 2 February 2001 regarding the above article.
The industry's projection of 12%-15% growth rate was based on feedbacks by US semiconductor manufacturers, some of which AIC group of companies are supporting for their assembly, test and distribution of integrated circuit requirements in this region.
However, as this industry is indeed volatile, opinions and estimates constitute our judgement as of this date and are subject to change without notice.

We refer to the above news article appearing in The Star, Business Section,
page 3, on Tuesday, 30 January 2001, a copy of which is enclosed for your
reference.
