We refer to the Exchange's letter dated 9 May 2001 in respect of the captioned matter and in particular to the following sentence which was carried in the said article.
“… Transmile is also looking to team up with a leasing company for the supply of second-hand B727s. It hopes to lease these aircraft (eventually buying them) at below market cost and share some of its profits with the leasing company.”
The Board of Directors of TGB wishes to clarify that it is committed to maximise shareholders’ returns and establish the Company as a cost-competitive express airfreight operator in the Asia Pacific region. As such, the Company has always approached and being approached by third parties to look into ways whereby it can achieve these business objectives. However, TGB has yet to establish any significant business partnership with any third parties. The Company needs to conduct detailed business studies with these potential business partners to determine its viability. Hence, the Board of TGB is not in a position to make any announcement yet.
The view expressed in the report printed by the Edge were from stockbrokers and not from the Board.

on Monday, 7 May 2001, a copy of which is enclosed for your reference.
