We refer to the Exchange's letter dated 7 March 2000, in respect of the above captioned matter, which we received on 9 March 2000.
The Board of Directors of Tongkah Holdings Berhad ("THB" or the "Company") after due and diligent enquiry with the following substantial shareholders:
1) Mokhzani Mahathir
2) Pantai Holdings Berhad for Maxgold Investments Group Ltd
wish to inform that they are considering the option of disposing the Company's stockbroking subsidiary, Kestrel Securities Sdn Bhd. Details of the disposal are presently not available as the preliminary negotiations are still on-going with the party(ies) concerned. An announcement to the Exchange will be made upon the successful finalisation and conclusion of the terms for the disposal.

We refer to the above article appearing in The Edge, on page 2, 6 March 2000, a
copy of which is enclosed for your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentence
which is reproduced as follows:-
"The names mentioned in the market are Muar-based Kestrel Securities Sdn Bhd,
which is owned by Tongkah Holdings Berhad..."
In accordance with the Exchange's Corporate Disclosure Policy, you are
requested to furnish the Exchange with an announcement for public release
confirming or denying the above reported sentence after due and diligent
enquiry with all the directors, substantial shareholders and all such other
persons reasonably familiar with the matters about which the disclosure is to
be made in this respect. In the event you deny the above reported sentence,
you are required to set forth facts sufficient to clarify any misleading
aspects of the same. In the event you confirm the above reported sentences,
you are required to set forth facts sufficient to support the same.
