We refer to your letter dated 17th March 2000 via Ref. No. KA-000317-47494 in which the Exchange had highlighted the underlined phrase which was extracted from the article appearing in the Business Times page 6, on Thursday, 16th March 2000:-
"Kumpulan H&L High Tech Berhad ... plans to look into the possibility of take-overs or joint ventures with companies in a similar trade as a mean of expansion"
The Board of Directors of Kumpulan H&L High-Tech Berhad (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") wishes to clarify to the Exchange that the abovementioned reported phrase was erroneous. The Company had only mentioned to the reporter's enquiry that generally these could possibility be some of the means of expansion, if viable. However, as at to-date, the Company has not carried out or effected any such plans at all.

We refer to the above article appearing in the Business Times, page 6,
Thursday, 16 March 2000, a copy of which is enclosed for your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentence,
which is reproduced as follows:-
"Kumpulan H&L High-Tech Bhd,....plans to look into the possibility of
take-overs or joint ventures with companies in a similar trade as a mean of
expansion".
In accordance with the Exchange's Corporate Disclosure Policy, you are
requested to furnish the Exchange with an announcement for public release
confirming or denying the above reported sentence after due and diligent
enquiry with all the directors, substantial shareholders and all such other
persons reasonably familiar with the matters about which the disclosure is to
be made in this respect. In the event you deny the above reported sentence, you
are required to set forth facts sufficient to clarify any misleading aspects of
the same. In the event you confirm the above reported sentence, you are
required to set forth facts sufficient to support the same.
Please furnish the Exchange with your reply immediately.
