"Malaysia Airports 'grounds' Naluri Plan"

Contents :

We refer to your facsimile letter ZO-000523-62848 dated 23 May 2000 in respect of the above matter.

MAHB will commence the development of the National Exhibition and Convention Centre ("NECC") located at the former Terminal 1 of the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang, Selangor Darul Ehsan. This is the only Exhibition and Convention Centre in the world to have its own dedicated Boeing 747-runway.

The NECC development was officially launched by the Prime Minister, Y.A.B. Dato' Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamad this afternoon. A separate statement on the launch of the NECC development is also being made to the KLSE and the Press, respectively.

The construction of the NECC is expected to be completed in the year 2002. Upon completion of the project, NECC is expected to generate revenue streams from the exhibition and conventions and other related activities. The expected revenues to be generated by NECC is expected to contribute to the future non-aeronautical income of the MAHB Group.

Negotiations are currently being held with the relevant Government Authorities on the lease of the Subang Airport Land. It is envisaged that the Airport Land would be leased by the Federal Land Commissioner (the "Lessor") to MAHB (the "Lessee") in due course. An announcement will be made to the KLSE once an agreement to this effect has been executed by the relevant parties.
