We refer to the query from the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange dated 21 July 2000 which we received on even date in respect of an Article appearing on page C3 of the Nanyang Business Section, Nanyang Siang Pau in Malaysia, of the same date captioned as above.

We hereby advise that the Company is not aware of any developments pertaining to the matter attributed to Tanjong in the Article and is therefore unable to make any comments on the subject.

Section, Nanyang Siang Pau, on Friday, 21 July 2000, a copy of which is
enclosed for your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentence
which states that Tanjong is interested to acquire a substantial stake in
Magnum from MPHB.
