We refer to the above article headlined “Idris to push for Talasco’s expansion- Company holding talks with three others” in the Business Section of the New Straits Times dated 19 August 2000 and wish to inform that AMMB Holdings Berhad (“AHB”) is not aware of any approach or of any discussion relating a possible merger of Arab-Malaysian Assurance Berhad (“AMAB”) with any party.
In any case, we would like to clarify that AMAB’s shareholders as at 30 June 2000 are as follows:-
Arab-Malaysian Merchant Bank Berhad 47.12 %
(Wholly-owned subsidiary of AHB)
AHB 14.76 %
ABH Holdings Sdn Bhd 38.12 %
Total 100.0 %
As such, the information with regard to the shareholders of AMAB as stated in the above article is incorrect.

We refer to the above article appearing in New Straits Times, Business Section,
page 21, on Saturday, 19 August 2000, a copy of which is enclosed for your
reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentence,
which is reproduced as follows:-
