We refer to your further query and our response of 14 September 2000 on the news article which appeared in The Business Times on 12 September 2000.


The statement made by the Company's Group EVP/Executive Director, Puan Wan Aishah Wan Hamid on the expected financial performance of the Group for the year ending 31 December 2000 was based on its first half year results. Additionally, the trend for previous years indicates that the Company's performance improves in the second half of each year.

We refer to the above news articles appearing in the Business Times, pages 1,
3 and 24, on Tuesday, 12 September 2000, a copy is enclosed for your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentences
which are reproduced as follows:-
