We refer to Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad’s (“ Bursa Securities”) letter dated 9 July 2007 regarding the news article on page 21 on the Edge dated Monday, 9 July 2007, in particular the underlined sentence, which is reproduced as follows:

“There has been a talk that Taliworks is looking to acquire new businesses in an effort to grow. Given the common shareholding, industry analysts speculate that Taliworks may look to acquire Southern Waste eventually”

Our response is as follows:-

Taliworks is involved in water, wastewater and waste management businesses both in Malaysia and overseas. In an effort to expand its businesses, Taliworks does not discount the possibility of exploring the acquisition of Southern Waste Management Sdn Bhd (“SWM”) given that SWM’s business is in solid waste management. Any proposed acquisition in the future will be evaluated by Taliworks on terms favourable to Taliworks.

In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentence,
which is reproduced as follows:-
