With reference to your fax Ref. ZO-001109-41745 dated 9 November 2000, regarding the news item referred to above, our comments are as follows :-
The possibility of meeting part of the cost of the 4 LNG ships on order by selling bonds was mentioned as an option in response to a question when releasing the unaudited consolidated results of the Group for the second quarter ended 30 September 2000.
It was pointed out then that this option was indicative of very preliminary thinking and needed to be developed and carefully studied further.
An appropriate announcement would be made later after the matter had been fully studied and decided upon.
It is hoped that this helps to clarify the situation.

November 2000, a copy of which is enclosed for your reference.
