We refer to the letter from the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange dated 19th March 2001 requesting us to give reasons for the Group's actual profit after tax and minority interests as compared to the forecasted profit reported on 29th February 2000.

The Group's unaudited profit after taxation and minority interests for the year ending 31st December 2000 of RM37,594,000 which is higher than the forecasted profit after taxation and minority interest of RM32,488,000. This is due to the higher associates contribution by Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd ("Perodua").

Perodua achieved higher unit sales than forecasted and lower taxation for the year ending 31st December 2000. These factors contributed positively to the performance of Perodua and, hence, our Group.

We refer to your Company's announcement dated 23 February 2001 in respect of
the abovecaptioned matter.
We note that your Group's profit after taxation and minority interests for the
year ended 31 December 2000 amounts to RM37,594,000.
However, on page 43 of your Company's Circular To Shareholders dated 29
February 2000, a consolidated profit after taxation and minority interests of
RM32,488,000 was forecasted for the abovementioned financial year.
In accordance with the Exchange's Listing Requirements, kindly furnish the
Exchange immediately with your detailed explanation on the above difference for
public release.
