The Board of Directors of CJCEN wishes to announce that the Company had on 22 September 2020 received a notice in writing dated 17 September 2020 from Messrs. Deloitte PLT (“Deloitte”) on their resignation as the External Auditors of the Company (“Notice of Resignation”). Based on the Notice of Resignation, the term of office of Deloitte as External Auditors of the Company shall end after twenty-one (21) days from the date of the Notice of Resignation pursuant to Section 281(2) of the Companies Act 2016, which falls on today.
Deloitte was re-appointed as the External Auditors of the Company at the Postponed Twenty-Third Annual General Meeting (“AGM”) of the Company held on 28 May 2020 to hold office until the conclusion of the next AGM of the Company. The resignation is on a voluntary basis to mitigate the risk of over familiarity and to uphold higher level of independence in view that Deloitte has been the External Auditors of the Company for many years.
Further announcement on the appointment of new External Auditors of the Company will be made by the Company in due course.
Save for the above, the Board is not aware of any matters that need to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the Company.
