| Working experience and occupation | Upon graduation, he joined the Malaysian Judicial and Legal service and served as a Deputy Public Prosecutor, Magistrate and President of Sessions Court. He next joined Bumiputra Merchant Bankers Berhad in 1973 and served as an Officer in the Corporate Finance Department until 1976 following which he joined the law firm of Shearn Delamore & Co, and subsequently became a partner. He retired from the law firm Shearn Delamore & Co, but has since etablished the legal firm of Rahmat Lim & Partners. Dato’ Haji Rahmat was the Chairman of Klang Container Terminal Bhd when it was privatised in 1986 and also Chairman of Klang Port Management Sdn Bhd when the rest of Port Klang was privatised in 1992. He has since resigned from Klang Port Management Sdn Bhd in year 2000. |
