| Working experience and occupation | Datuk Azizan started his career as a Shipping Executive in Harper Gilfillan (M) Sdn Bhd after graduating from University of Malaya in 1973 with a degree in Bachelor of Arts. In 1975, he joined Pernas MISC Shipping Agencies Sdn Bhd as its first Branch Manager in the new Johor Port. He later became Penang Branch Manager and MISC Marketing Manager based in Kuala Lumpur. In 1981, he was attached to Panocean Limited in London in their Chartering Department. He left MISC to join JF Apex Securities Berhad in 1982 as Director and launched his career in stockbroking and finance. As a stockbroker, he was an active member of the stockbrokers fraternity and had held the post of President of the Association of Stockbroking Companies of Malaysia until he left the industry. Datuk Azizan brought with him vast experience in stockbroking and corporate finance having helped Tongkah Holdings Berhad and also the Kedah State owned Bina Darulaman Berhad in their debt restructuring plans. He joined the MBF Group in 2000 to help in the restructuring of the MBF Group and was subsequently appointed the Managing Director of MBF Capital Berhad in 2001. Upon completion of the exercise, Datuk Azizan stepped down as Managing Director and was appointed as the non-executive Chairman of MBF Corporation Berhad. Datuk Azizan is currently the Director of MBF Holdings Berhad. Datuk Azizan is also the Chairman of Eastern & Oriental Berhad and Investment Panel of Lembaga Tabung Haji. He also sits on the board of Apex Equity Holdings Berhad, Ramunia Holdings Berhad and TH Plantations Berhad. |
