| Working experience and occupation | He is one of the founders of the Len Cheong Holding Berhad Group. His involvement in the furniture industry dates back to as early as 1954. During his eight years with numerous furniture companies throughout Malaysia such as in Ipoh, Bidor, Tapah and Kampar, he learnt the trade of furniture-making using various handicraft techniques. After gaining sufficient experience in the furniture-making operations, he ventured out, at the age of 22, to form his own furniture business in 1962 under a partnership, namely Syarikat Lian Cheong Industrial, which is the former business entity of Len Cheong Furniture Sendirian Berhad. Mr Loh has more than 40 years of experience in the wood and timber furniture industry and is one of the pioneers to introduce Nyatohwood furniture and doors into the local market in 1979. He was a member of Persatuan Pembuat-Pembuat dan Peniaga-Peniaga Perabut Selangor from 1985 to 1990 with previous appointments as the Auditor (1987-1988) and Vice-Treasurer (1989-1990) and is also a member of the Malaysian Furniture Industries Council. He travels extensively to most of the Asian and European countries to attend various worldwide trade exhibitions and seminars on woodworking machinery, furniture and product technology. |
