Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (“MRCB” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce that it had on 13 October 2011 received a Letter of Award from the Department of Irrigation and Drainage to carry out “Projek Fasa 2 Bagi Pembinaan Pemecah Ombak di Kuala Sungai Pahang, Pahang” (“The Project”). The contract sum of the Award is RM46.5 million for a period of 17 months. The construction is to be completed by March 2013. The Project is an extension of the RM258.17 million contract for “Merekabentuk dan Membina Kerja-Kerja Membaikpulih Muara Sungai dan Kuala Sungai Pahang (Fasa 1)” awarded to the Company in October 2008. The main component of the Project is to extend an additional 200m in length to the breakwater constructed during the Phase 1. The Project is expected to contribute positively to the future earnings of the Group. None of the Directors, substantial shareholders and/or persons connected with any Director or a substantial shareholder of the Company, have any interest, direct or indirect, in the Project.
