Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (“MRCB” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, MRCB Builders Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Gelanggang Harapan Construction Sdn Bhd) had on 5 April 2016 signed a contract with Jupiter Lagoon Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dairy Farm International Holdings Limited (“Dairy Farm”) to construct a cold storage processing and distribution centre for GCH Retail (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (“GCH”), a 90% owned subsidiary of Dairy Farm for RM56.8 million. GCH operates the Giant chain of hypermarkets and supermarkets in Malaysia. The 140,000 sq. ft. cold storage processing and distribution centre will be built on a 5 acre site in Kajang, Selangor and will feature super flat floor technology pioneered in Australia. The Project is due to complete by August 2017. The Project is expected to contribute positively to the future earnings of MRCB Group. None of the Directors, substantial shareholders and/or persons connected with any Director or a substantial shareholder of the Company, have any interest, direct or indirect, in the Project. |
