We refer to our announcement made on 28 February 2019 in relation to the declaration of a second interim single tier dividend in respect of the financial year ended 31 December 2018. The Board of Directors of Sunway Berhad (“Sunway”) is pleased to announce that the entitlement and payment dates of the said dividend are follows:-

a) The entitlement and payment dates for the second interim single tier cash dividend of 2 sen per share (“Cash Dividend”) are 29 March 2019 and 18 April 2019 respectively; and  

b) The entitlement and payment dates for the share dividend distribution of approximately 48.5 million treasury shares on the basis of 1 treasury share for every 100 existing ordinary shares held (“Share Dividend”) are 3 April 2019 and 18 April 2019 respectively.

The Cash Dividend and Share Dividend are collectively referred to as the “Interim Dividend”. Fractions of treasury shares will be disregarded and will be dealt with in such manner as the Board of Directors shall in its absolute discretion think expedient or to be in the best interests of Sunway.

The treasury shares of Sunway to be distributed pursuant to the Share Dividend will not be entitled to the Cash Dividend or any dividends or other distributions declared in respect of the financial period prior to the financial period in which the treasury shares are distributed or any interim dividends or distributions that may be declared before the date of distribution of the Interim Dividend. 

A shareholder shall qualify for entitlement to the Interim Dividend only in respect of:

i) Shares transferred into the Depositor’s Securities Account before 4.00 p.m. on the respective entitlement date of the Interim Dividend in respect of transfers; and
ii) Shares bought on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on a cum entitlement basis according to the Rules of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.

The treasury shares to be distributed under the Share Dividend will be credited into the entitled shareholders’ account maintained with Bursa Malaysia Depository Sdn Bhd on 18 April 2019.
