| Working experience and occupation | Mr Michael is a private equity investor and he contributes management expertise to a limited number of well-positioned companies with the objective of directing strategic, operational and financial improvements. Mr Michael has wide experience in various business sectors including wholesaling and retailing, manufacturing, engineering, real property development and investment, independent power generation, insurance broking, film production and legal practice. Mr Michael currently sits on the board of directors of several public and private companies and is the chairman of a listed company on the Main Board of the Singapore Stock Exchange. Mr Michael was previously a partner of one of the oldest and largest law firms in Malaysia. His area of practice was corporate and commercial law and he advised on mergers, acquisitions, divestments, corporate and debt restructurings and securities offerings, amongst others. He was listed as a leading corporate/mergers and acquisitions practitioner in Malaysia by Chambers Global, in its London based publication, The World’s Leading Lawyers. Mr Michael also serves on the Constitution Committee of the Malaysian Chinese Association, a political party and member of Malaysian government. |
