| Working experience and occupation | Mr Bart Alkemade joined British American Tobacco in February 1997 as General Manager of BAT Suriname, part of the Caribbean area cluster. From Suriname, he moved to West Africa as Area Marketing Manager, then to BAT’s corporate headquarters in Globehouse, London, UK as Global Brand Director Dunhill and finally Area Director Far East North, which comprises BAT’s businesses in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. Prior to joining the BAT Group, Mr Bart Alkemade had worked for Procter & Gamble for 8 years in various brand and trade marketing functions. Currently, Mr Bart Alkemade is the Chairman of the Tobacco Institute in Taiwan as well as Tobacco Association in Hong Kong and was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the European Chamber of Commerce and Trade in Taiwan. Within BAT, he sits on the Board of Rothmans Far East BV and BAT Services Ltd, Taiwan Branch and is also the Chairman of BAT Hong Kong Limited. |
