The Management of Pilecon Engineering Berhad ("PEB") wish to confirm the article which appeared in the Edge, Page 18, Monday, 9 October 2000 as mentioned in the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange ("KLSE") query letter dated 9 October 2000, which states that "It is also in the process of finalising the details of its Vietnamese water privatisation project. Lim says the government has "agreed in principle" to award the project to the group of companies which consist of Pilecon".
The Management of PEB would like to draw your attention to PEB's announcement dated 8 January 1998 whereby it was announced that The Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam has on 26 December 1997 granted the Investment Licence to the joint venture comprising PEB and Suez Lyonnaise Des Eaux to build, manage and operate a Water Treatment Plant at Thu Duc District, Ho Chi Minh City to produce and supply water to Ho Chi Minh City and to manage and operate the facilities for a concession period of 25 years after construction.

In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined
sentences, which are reproduced as follows:-
